Fractional powers of the noncommutative Fourier's law by the S‐spectrum approach

Let e_?, for ? = 1,2,3, be orthogonal unit vectors in and let be a bounded open set with smooth boundary ?Ω. Denoting by a point in Ω, the heat equation, for nonhomogeneous materials, is obtained replacing the Fourier law, given by the following: into the conservation of energy law, here a, b, are given functions. With the S‐spectrum approach to fractional diffusion processes we determine, in a suitable way, the fractional powers of T. Then, roughly speaking, we replace the fractional powers of T into the conservation of energy law to obtain the fractional evolution equation. This method is important for nonhomogeneous materials where the Fourier law is not simply the negative gradient. In this paper, we determine under which conditions on the coefficients a, b, the fractional powers of T exist in the sense of the S‐spectrum approach. More in general, this theory allows to compute the fractional powers of vector operators that arise in different fields of science and technology. This paper is devoted to researchers working in fractional diffusion and fractional evolution problems, partial differential equations, and noncommutative operator theory.     

考虑溯源系统应用的优质农产品双渠道供应链决策研究

优质农产品溯源系统的引入,既能提升有效供给、缩短流通时间,又能降低流通中的数量损耗和价值损失,由此带来了双渠道供应链系统在投资、销售、定价等方面的系列决策问题。考虑制造商开辟电子渠道、从溯源系统降低流通损耗和提高质量出发,分别构建制造商主导型的双渠道供应链决策模型。通过对比分析应用前后各成员在投资、定价及销售方面的最优策略,得到相关的核心边界值。数值仿真结果表明:核心边界值主要与双重损耗的改善程度及其他参数相关,各成员及系统接受溯源系统的应用成本不同,应用成本对各渠道销量的影响程度亦不相同,但各成员调整定价的应用成本边界值是一致的。     

Study of nucleon-nucleon and alphanucleon elastic scattering by the Manning-Rosen potential

Although often used in molecular dynamics, in this work the Manning–Rosen potential is parameterized to compute the scattering phase shifts for the nucleon–nucleon and the alpha-nucleon systems by exploiting the standard phase function method. We obtain excellent agreement in phase shifts with the more sophisticated calculations up to partial waves ${\ell }=2.$     

A note on the spheroidal modes vibration of an elastic sphere in linear viscoelastic fluid

Vibration characteristics of elastic nanostructures embedded in fluid medium have been used for biological and mechanical sensing, and also to investigate materials mechanical properties. An analytical approach based on the exact theory has been developed in this paper, to establish a new accurate and simple generalized frequency equation to predict spheroidal vibration of an elastic nanosphere, in a compressible viscoelastic fluid using linear Maxwell fluid model. To demonstrate the accuracy of the present approach, a comparison is made with the published theoretical results in the literature in some particular cases, which shows a very good agreement. Thus, the obtained frequency equation can be very useful to interpret the experimental measurements of vibrational dynamics of nanospheres and can serve as benchmark solution in design of liquid sensors.     

A distributionally robust area under curve maximization model

Area under ROC curve (AUC) is a performance measure for classification models. We propose new distributionally robust AUC models (DR-AUC) that rely on the Kantorovich metric and approximate AUC with the hinge loss function, and derive convex reformulations using duality. The DR-AUC models outperform deterministic AUC and support vector machine models and have superior worst-case out-of-sample performance, thereby showing their robustness. The results are encouraging since the numerical experiments are conducted with small-size training sets conducive to low out-of-sample performance.     

Minimizing Side Product Formation in Alkyne Functionalization of Ruthenium Complexes by Introduction of Protecting Groups

The synthesis of alkyne functionalized bipyridine ruthenium complexes are reported. The improved synthetic approach through application of stable protecting groups prevents formation of possible side products while facilitating purification. By applying copper-catalysed azide-alkyne cycloaddition reactions (CuAAC) pyrene units with flexible alkyl linkers are introduced at the periphery of the complex, opening up various applications including surface immobilization and DNA intercalation. All complexes are characterized structurally as well as photophysically, especially regarding the influence of the introduced alkyne and triazolyl substituents on their photophysical behavior.     

Central Sets Theorem along filters and some combinatorial consequences

The Central Sets Theorem was introduced by H. Furstenberg and then afterwards several mathematicians have provided various versions and extensions of this theorem. All of these theorems deal with central sets, and its origin from the algebra of Stone–?ech compactification of arbitrary semigroup, say $\beta S$. It can be proved that every closed subsemigroup of $\beta S$ is generated by a filter. We will show that, under some restrictions, one can derive the Central Sets Theorem for any closed subsemigroup of $\beta S$. We will derive this theorem using the corresponding filter and its algebra. Later we will also deal with how the notions of largeness along filters are preserved under some well behaved homomorphisms and give some consequences.
